Welcome to the fifth and final post of adaptation month, all month long I have brought you content that will uplift, inspire, and make you more comfortable. In today's post, I thought I would share with you 5 things that I have loved in the past month and might perk you up too!
As you will know if you have enjoyed my posts before, that I am a big music fan. I literally cannot work without noise, and I write best with a really loud soundtrack. This past month I have been turning to an odd category, and that is deep house remixes of 80s and 90s classics on YouTube. There are so many, and they are over an hour long and make for great listening!
Nostalgia always helps keep an anxious mind happy, and so I have watched some childhood favourite films. One standout has been Babe, the heart-warming tale of the sheep pig was such a lovely watch. It reminded me of a simpler time and was such a good way to spend an hour and a half.
I haven't raved about a book in such a long time, so many people have been given Memoirs of a Geisha as my recommendation for about 18 months. Well, move over Arthur Golden, because I have a new fave, and that is Rosemary's Baby by Ira Levin. This is such a twisty book, that grabs you and forces you to read it. Also, it's an easy read, nice and short, so would be great if you want to get back into reading!
Like everyone in the world, streaming services have become my best friend because actual telly on the telly is dire. One show that has given me a boost, is Smack the Pony. It's a zany comedy from 1999-2002 and is plain stupid. Yet, nothing has made me laugh more recently, so if you want your mind taken off the reality of life right now, dive straight into this!
Eyeliner has become something I can't let go of, and it is a staple. My winged journey is still young, but I have come a long way from the first shaky stamped wings back in November. I am always surprised at what I can teach myself, but as good as you can be, you need a product that matches. I feel that I have found my perfect product, the Too Faced Better Than Sex eyeliner is sensational. If you are looking for a long-lasting truly black eyeliner, then give this one a go.
So there you have it, 5 things that made my May just that little better! Thank you for joining me all month long for Adaptation Month! I will be back next week, to bring you the beginning of June's content.
