Welcome back to the last post of Coat Season on benpechey.com, I hope you have been taking notes because at the end of today’s post is a quiz…
As this is my last post before Christmas today I want to sum up my year. 2017 has been a rollercoaster of a year, for a lot of people -myself included- the mood has been a little solemn and perhaps more than ever the lack of respect that people have for each other has been highlighted. For me personally, I have stayed on an even path and feel that if I can weather this year then next year can do it’s worst because I have got this!!
In terms of benpechey.com, my rebrand back in July made me fall in love with blogging all over again and I hope you have been loving the new content that I have been putting out for you. I brought you 12 Ben Tries posts this year, I have quite honestly adored trying loads of different things and this will be returning in 2018. I introduced Girls on Film in August, I wanted to develop and showcase different points of views to educate myself and to entertain you, and as I write this I have just interviewed January’s Girl on Film - so excited to continue to bring you these pieces.
Half of my output is fashion and the looks that I showcase each week. I adore fashion and its power to allow me to be exactly who I am. Without this platform, I would not feel as comfortable as I do in my personal style and my body, so I am grateful to have this opportunity to serve looks and bring you my take on fashion. Of course, I would not be able to deliver the huge helpings of sass if it wasn’t for the wonderful group of people that go out of their way to help me. Come rain or shine they have helped me these past 51 weeks and for that, I will be eternally grateful, so thank you to Rachel, Claudia, Pavlina and Jamie.
I cannot thank you all enough for the all-weather help. Rachel who gave up so much of her precious spare time when I was home over the summer. Claudia, Pavlina and Jamie -all in their third years of degrees- who took the time out to help me, so truly thank you all so much. I could not have done 2017 without you, and I will need you just as much in 2018 so keep on being incredible!!
I also was lucky enough to land the role of Fashion Editor at PlusMinus Magazine, which I am so thankful for. Getting to attend LFW and GFW has been a massive treat and I am so honoured I get to do what I have dreamed of for years. Working with some incredibly talented ladies; Editor in Chief Jodie, Out and About Editor Rachel, and Events Editor Char - I am so lucky to do this with you guys- we are going to keep on smashing it in 2018. Oh and a brand new post went live today which you might love...
It seems fitting that this post features one of my favourite coats of all time and is my special returning guest. If you remember the last time you saw this coat it was borrowed, well I stand before you today in MY OWN PINK COAT. Yes, the summer sales got me good, and I picked up this baby half price. I couldn’t be happier, and GUESS WHAT, you too can own this pink beauty as it is still available in the sale on River Island (see the shop my look section at the bottom).
I’m getting all emotional but I am truly grateful for 2017 and the opportunities it has brought me and look forward to developing these even further in 2018. I am taking the 26th off and will be back on the 29th with my 2017 Favourites, I hope you all have a truly magical Christmas!!
Oh, and by the way, there is no quiz !!
