New Year, New Ben?

It’s that time of year again, NEW YEAR. We have put the decorations away, partying and excess has turned into resolutions and detox diets. Well, darling do not rush for the Davina DVDs just yet. Traditionally, as I am sure you are all aware, the new year is a time for change and for health. Well, I am here to say that it doesn’t have to be that way. I said something very similar last year why does a new year mark a sudden and in some cases a drastic change in your sense of self and being.

I am much more in favour of gentle and gradual changes, in fact, myself and Jamie have spoken about change in our latest podcast, which you can listen to here. Unless you are somehow capable of massive transformation ala Doctor Who, I doubt that even if you wished to, you would not be capable of such a massive change. Perhaps it is more helpful to focus on the fact that you have the opportunity to tweak the things that perhaps did not quite go the way you wanted in 2017. However, don’t forget that you can take forward the things that did work well. Reflect on last year and evaluate the successes and the weakness and take this knowledge forward into 2018.

There is this impetus, especially in the new year, to deem your current state not good enough. Therefore the change people are seeking is complete. However, there is nothing wrong with who I am currently, and 2017 Ben is someone that I am very proud of. It makes no sense to want to turn over a whole new leaf, instead, I want to build on the successes I had in 2017 and make 2018 even better using everything I experienced in 2017.

To help you, I will explain the things I am going to carry on into 2018 and the things that I am aiming to leave behind. I am thrilled to take my ability to perform under pressure into 2018, the knowledge that I managed to spin so many creative plates at the same time in 2017, resulting in a really strong work ethic, that will be most defintlly be continued in 2018. I will be leaving the act of comparison behind in 2017, I always manage to see the best in others and the worst in myself, and this will be firmly left in 2017. So it is really easy when you think about it.

2017 was great but 2018 is going to be EVEN BETTER, and I cannot wait to smash it with you all this year !!

p.s. apologies that I am a strange pale colour with red ears, it was −1°C so it was really quite cold, and as Pavlina said, I was not wearing enough clothes ahahah !!
